Day 12: Where the hell is Thermopolis?

So after a very chilly night in Yellowstone we got up early for a long day of travel and sight seeing.  Our first stop was a trip through the Grand Tetons and a stop at Jenny Lake.  Friends told us about a beautiful hike up to a Waterfall (yes another waterfall) on the other side of Jenny Lake.  We took a water taxi across the lake to the trail head for Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.  After a short hike we made it to Hidden Falls which is another beautiful Waterfall.  I can never get bored of admiring the beauty of Water flowing over a ledge.  After that Melanie and I hiked up to Inspiration point to get a beautiful view of Jenny Lake and the Grand Teton mountains.  After getting inspired as well as a little perspiration we headed back down the trail to make our return trip across Jenny Lake.  We did see what we are pretty sure was fresh Grizzly Scat (Poop for the less educated) on the return trail to the boat.  We got back into the RV and decided to head into Jackson WY to pick up some Buffalo and Elk meat from a meat company a friend recommended to us.  So at some point in the future we have some yummy Elk and Buffalo Burgers and Elk and Buffalo Ribeyes.  Boy now that sounds like roughing it!!!  After having a Buffalo Burger for lunch at their Food truck outside their store we boarded the RV to head to Thermopolis WY.  Now I know you are like everyone else in asking where is Thermopolis WY and why are you stopping there.  Well Colleen found out they have a larger Dinosaur Exhibit here then at the Smithsonian in DC.  So the kids were excited to see all the dinosaur bones and exhibits.  We arrived in Thermopolis just in time for dinner.  Talking about a change in scenery as we were riding through WY it is like we went from luscious green or rocky mountains to the mountains in Arizona or New Mexico.  In an instance the mountains changed to Red Dirt mountains and the landscape became very dry.  And talk about a temperature change we went from 31 degrees in the morning to 90 degrees in the evening.  Well off to see some things older than myself tomorrow, talk to you then.
