Day 38 : The Big Easy not so easy to get too

So we arose this morning made our visit to Waffle House for another delicious breakfast and headed for The Big Easy.  After a wonderful 6 hour drive in the rain we finally arrived in New Orleans.  I booked us a rental car at Hertz not really paying attention to where it was located and we soon found out it was right in the middle of down town New Orleans.  So we got to drive the RV right down the French Quarters and to a very downtown New Orleans (Not advised for those who plan to visit NO in an RV).  So after miraculously finding a place to park a 32 foot RV in downtown I was able to run in and get our car and head off to our camp ground.  Well we get to the road it is on and low and behold there is a long train blocking the road and not moving.  Just the way the day was going.  So we had to find an alternative route which we did and finally made it to our camp ground around 5pm.  We decided to head down to the French Quarters to eat at a restaurant called the Gumbo Shop.  Colleen and myself had Seafood Okra Gumbo, Crawfish Etoufee Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Hot Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce.  I have to say it was mighty good, the girls were not as daring and stuck with the Grilled Chicken.  After dinner we took a stroll down Bourbon street, stopping by Pat O'Briens for a Hurricane.  Bourbon street at night is probably not the best environment for kids so we quickly moved along the happening street and made it back to our car and headed back to camp.  Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow but I am just hoping for no rain.  I have seen more rain the last 2 weeks than I think I have seen in the last 12 months in CA.
