Day 39 : A day of Gluttony in New Orleans

Well we had all day to explore New Orleans today so we headed out about 9:30 for our Adventure.  We headed to the French Quarters again and began our sight seeing and souvenir shopping.  To start our day of fabulous food we planned to stop by Cafe De Monde for a cafe au lait and beignets.  Basically coffee and doughnuts but way better (see pictures below).  After a little more exploring and shopping we decided to find Po Boys for lunch and stopped at Johnny's Po Boys and man was it good.  This place was had a line to the door the whole time we were there, definitely a good sign compared to Joe Tess in Omaha (see day 16 if you do not know what I am talking about),  After filling our bellys once more we decided to head back to the RV for a swim and some rest before heading out for dinner.  Colleen chose a place with really good reviews that we tried to go to the night before but they were booked till late in the night.  The restaurant we went to was called Boucherie and was extremely good.  We had the Poke of Escolar ceviche, Blackened Shrimp and Grit Cake for appetizers and for the main course we had the Applewood smoked Scallops and the Smoked Wagyu Beef Brisket.  It was all very good.  Not the best was the deserts, we had the Caramel House made Ice Cream, Blueberry and Peach cobbler and Krispy Kreme Bread pudding (it was absolutely the best bread pudding ever).  I will definitely have to try to figure out this recipe when I get home.  Well with all the food I think we should have jogged the 9 miles back to camp.  Foolish me to think I might lose some weight on this trip.  Well tomorrow we leave the Big Easy and head for the Gulf Coast of Texas for a few days at the beach.
